Is my extruder badly damaged?

I have a 3d Touch, and left a print running unattended last night (after a couple of weeks of having almost no trouble, and a successful 53hr print last weekend).  It looks like somehow the print got badly mangled (I think the raft folded over on itself) and ended up gouging two ~0.5cm chunks out of the insulation around extruder #2 (see attached picture).  My question is: Is this a significant problem?  I've run a small test print since then, and it looks like the extruder is still working fine, but I'd like to know if this will cause any non-obvious problems.

Hi Rob,

I can confirm that this will not affect the performance of your printer. The silicone (red) moulding is serves as a added layer of protection for the user during maintenance. The major insulation during nozzle heating is done by the fire cement (exposed underneath the sillicone).

All the best,

Ed

Thanks Ed,

Good to know.  It happened to me to.  Prints fine now just as before.
