Bits From Bytes is pleased to announce its updated design with a switch from moulded to laser cut parts. This redesign has been driven by production issues to allow us to cope with demand. The new design is in keeping with the RepRap principles of being self-replicating and readily obtainable.

All the new laser cut parts will allow the user to swap in and out printed parts for the Darwin design. It is also the case that all the new laser cut parts can also be printed (STL files will be made available shortly). At the same time we have taken the opportunity to incorporate several new features, including ball bearings on all rotating parts, flexible drive couplings and a new design of extruder drive designed to cope with a range of materials.
